ROSSLAND CITY COUNCIL WILL “NOT” RESCIND THEIR DECISION TO MAKE A PORTION OF THE EMCON LOT AVAILABLE FOR THE NEXT TWO YEARS AS THE SITE FOR A PROPOSED OUTDOOR SKATEPARK.
THERE HAS BEEN OPPOSITION FROM NEIGHBOURS TO THAT LOCATION AND COUNCILLOR LAURIE CHARLTON FOR ONE WANTED THE SITE DROPPED FROM THE SKATEPARK ASSOCIATION’S PUBLIC CONSULTATION PROCESS.
BUT THE MAJORITY OF COUNCIL WANTS TO CONTINUE TO LET THE SKATEPARK ASSOCIATION DRIVE THE PUBLIC INPUT PROCESS OVER THE NEXT YEAR OR TWO.
THE MAYOR HAS SAID PREVIOUSLY THAT ONLY ONCE THAT PROCESS IS COMPLETE WILL THEIR BE PUBLIC HEARINGS TO DECIDE IF THE EMCON LOT IS INDEED THE RIGHT PLACE FOR THE SKATEPARK.
