Trail’s skatepark builder will be chosen tonight. According to a news story from MountainFm.net Newline skatepark has been put ahead of the pack according to the City of Trail Staff report….
“THE CITY OF TRAIL IS EXPECTED TO AWARD THE TENDER FOR THE LONG-ANTICIPATED SKATEPARK AT A COUNCIL MEETING TONIGHT.
ACCORDING TO A STAFF REPORT, NEW LINE SKATEPARKS HAS BEEN RECOMMENDED BY STAFF AS THE
SUCCESSFUL BIDDER FOR THE $25,000 DESIGN PROJECT.
THE REPORT INDICATES NEW LINE HAS AN INTEREST IN INCORPORATING THE AREA’S HERITAGE INTO THE DESIGN, AS WELL AS MAKING THE SPACE AMENABLE TO MORE THAN THE SKATEBOARD COMMUNITY.
THE NEW PARK WILL BE SITUATED AT THE CHAIN-UP AREA IN THE GULCH, AND WORK IS EXPECTED TO BE COMPLETE BY THE END OF OCTOBER.”
