Skateboard Instructor Accreditation
Online learning is the new way of becoming educated. It makes sense that now you can learn to be a skateboard instructor.
Skaters for Public Skateparks and Ben Wixon (Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction/dropintoskateboarding.com/) have come together to offer a free skateboarding resource for those interested in instructing skateboarding’s foundation, fundamental and expert skill levels.
Course 1 is now online; udemy.com/how-to-become-an-accredited-skateboard-instructor. The introductory course outlines some of skateboarding’s long history along with the 76 page pdf instructor manual and examples of skateboard programs.
Course 2 will be available soon which will allow the learner to become accredited in the Drop In To Skateboarding Curriculum by the way of a small fee. Students will be required to review the course material via a power point format and then complete the Drop In Curriculum exam, submit two demonstration videos showcasing the skills learnt through the course. When the course requirements are successfully fulfilled the student will receive the accreditation via email.
With the accreditation, instructors can then feel confident of being able to help grow the activity of skateboarding through practical and safe skill instruction.
