Contest
If you are a skateboarding youth and do not have a helmet bcskateboarding.org is giving you a chance to win one.
A generous offering from S-ONE Skateboard Helmets in California has given bcskateboarding.org the opportunity for one lucky youth skateboarder to win one.
What we want you to do is to write a couple of paragraphs explaining why you need a helmet and how we can promote the use of them to skateboarders who so far have not chosen to wear one.
Send your writeup to bcskateboarding@live.com. Entries close Oct 1st 2009. Only eligible for BC residents.
THANKS FOR ALL THE ENTRIES INTO OUR CONTEST – STAY PLUGGED INTO TO BCSKATEBOARDING.ORG FOR THE NEXT ONE!

Many thanks for sharing your story. Skateboarding helmets are reasonably affordable considering what they are built to do. Your entry will definitely be logged. All the best to your son.
This letter is for my son who is at home because of skatebboarding injuries.
It was a normal school day, my 13yr old son Jordan was off to school with his friends. They all takw their skateboards and ride them to school down a hill. These children are all in grade 9 and none of them wear helmets or any protective gear. They are afriad of getting teased at school. You see at his school noone wears any protective gear, “its not cool!” they all say.
He wasa boarding down the hill clocking 50-70kms when he lost control. He was thrown into the air and landed on his face and head in the middle of an intersection. He now has Neck injuries, whip lash, broken nose, swelling of the face, road rash on his face, concussion, lacerations to his hip and many bruises and scrapes. He is off school as he can barely stand. He should be back to school in afew days and wants to have a helmet that is cool but they are very expensive. My thoughts were if we could get all the kids into one of these cool helmets maybe we could start a trend and safe a life.
Please take this into letter consideration.. As his injuries alone prove he needs a helmet.
