It was a normal school day, my 13yr old son Jordan was off to school with his friends. They all takw their skateboards and ride them to school down a hill. These children are all in grade 9 and none of them wear helmets or any protective gear. They are afriad of getting teased at school. You see at his school noone wears any protective gear, "its not cool!" they all say. He wasa boarding down the hill clocking 50-70kms when he lost control. He was thrown into the air and landed on his face and head in the middle of an intersection. He now has Neck injuries, whip lash, broken nose, swelling of the face,road rash on his face, concussion, lacerations to his hip and many bruises and scrapes. He is off school as he can barely stand. He should be back to school in afew days and wants to have a helmet that is cool but they are very expensive. My thoughts were if we could get all the kids into one of these cool helmets maybe we could start a trend and safe a life. Please take this into letter consideration..
