Kinnaird Youth Indoor Skatepark

Kinnaird Park Community Church Youth Pastor Matt Fontes and myself, Ty Smith, are working with a group of enthusiasts on a indoor skatepark right here in Castlegar. This has been 2 1/2 years in the making and now everything is falling in the right place to see the KYIS open for Xmas 2011.

Due to the generosity of the Rossland Skatepark Association’s membership we are setting up their ramp to use as the primary piece of the KYIS. The KYIS thanks all the supporters of this project.

Below are some of the photos during the demolition and cleanup.

Come on down to the Cominco Arena and check out many of the Kootenay’s best skateboarders who are throwing down in the first event of the 2011 Kootenay Skateboard Series. You can still register on the day…riders must wear a helmet.

Trail skaters will talk concrete

Trail is looking forward to the wise words of Jim Barnum (Spectrum Skatepark Creations) soon. He will be visiting to give his input on the potential sites and costs of development.

*** if they had of gone ahead in 2005 costs were around $200,000 but now in 2010 they are around $400,000….is there a obvious message here Trail?
